TAKING A KNEE

The booing at the NFL football game last night, when the entire Dallas team dropped to its knees, was loudest I have ever heard. Great anger

The NFL has all sorts of rules and regulations. The only way out for them is to set a rule that you can’t kneel during our National Anthem!

Ratings for NFL football are way down except before game starts, when people tune in to see whether or not our country will be disrespected!

No.  No.  and No.   Instead, Tweet Could Have Tweeted:

Instead of the first one:  “Booing at the NFL game was loud, let’s face it.  This is disagreement and that’s America.”

Instead of the second one:  “Not sure a rule against kneeling is appropriate but I’m hoping we address the grievances and don’t have to set rules.”

Instead of the third one:  “NFL football needs protection, it’s a great game!  Let’s play the game and protest otherwise.  This is about America, not the players, not about me.”

THOUGHTS, folks?

  1. Pretty much agree.

His 2nd tweeet doesn’t address the core problem at all. I will describe the real problem as out of control victimhood-ignited and fanned by obama the great divider, and think it really needs to be addressed.
I also am not interested in stopping them from protesting at the game, especially during the anthem. I’d rather see their attendance drop to 5% of what it used to be. I stopped watching long ago and thug ball has nothing to even attempt to draw me back in.
In summary – I don’t care what the NFL or the players do. 5 seconds from now I’ll be thinking of something else.

  2. I’m so glad you agree…see, it’s just the TONE, making himself look like the guy taking the high road…that’s been my point all along….So glad you see that.
And yes, who cares about the NFL other than how they play IF you’re a football fan?
I hope they stop this nonsense and someone asks what the heck they really hope to achieve? Are cops suddenly going to be nicer to Blacks because they took a knee for the anthem? I’m thinking not. And, in some cases, that’s a shame, right!? But most cops? There are Black cops! Wouldn’t they QUIT if they saw rampant racism in law enforcement? I’d hope so.

  3. I think black folks get a closer look by a lot of cops, but all sorts of people get rough treatment from cops. It’s not a perfect world and it seems blacks are demanding it. White privilege? I grew up poor, I don’t owe anyone.

    1. ya, ya, ya…. Very cute. But the lyric line “it might cause an accident” ticks me off because I’ve got TV news on this morning and keep hearing how it’ll be Trump’s fault if NoKo nukes Japan…or us… “he needs to dampen the rhetoric…his threats are provocative” Wait, and Kim’s AREN’T provocative?
And does anybody ELSE notice how Kim is reacting to our leftwing media and going along with IT?
      WOW. \
The message seems to be “when San Francisco’s nuked, then we’ll attack” I disagree. Strongly, in no uncertain terms.

      1. I suppose you had to have seen the whole episode. Yeah, there’s a DPRK segment, but there also a school campaign to raise awareness of distracted drivers which Cartman keeps diverting attention from with his fake “suicide awareness” campaign, resulting in kids being hit throughout the episode by distracted drivers.

In other words, everyone’s “virtue signalling” awareness to the detriment of the multiplicity of causes. Perhaps it’s time that EVERYONE (including the President) stopped virtue signalling for a while. In other words, “Put it down” people. Everyone hates it when Trump tweets, but its usually in response to a provocation by some other virtue signaller (like Kim Jong Un)!

So please, watch the whole episode. It’s quite creative… especially for “Tweek”.

  4. Kid, not only do you feel you don’t owe anybody, you also don’t complain. Big difference.

I TOTALLY get the Black community’s fears…I have a dear Black friend who has never done a thing in his life wrong and he was picked up by cops a few years back, just sitting with another Black friend on a bench outside an ice cream store! The friend was yelling “I HAVE POT, leave him alone!” And they took my buddy in! For no reason…ostensibly. He was released quickly.
I know Blacks are stopped in cars for virtually no reason,…I know Beverly Hills here used to check to make sure people seemed like they “BELONGED” in their part of town…horrible! I am happy to say that TODAY there are so many Black Beverly Hills inhabitants that the cops better NOT try that anymore!

Cops are uptight…they leave wives and children behind, knowing they could die any day…particularly these days….they do wrong, we know that…and they get tried and proven wrong or innocent.

I am hoping all Americans feel that more and more into the future.

    1. I operate the other blog on an older WordPress fabrication and need to figure out how to switch it over…not sure I can, but I just looked all over that Administration area and there is NO way I can find where I can get REPLY on the comments made there…..I hope I can some day soon.
I did nothing magical to make this happen…..it’s just there. NOW , after screwing around with this new blog, I kind of like the newer WP format…I hated it when it first came out so I’m operating on the old one. Wish me luck!

  6. I’m OK with 1&3 but not so much here: (2) “I’m hoping we address the grievances”
WHAT GRIEVANCES? [They] are there basically to do what they are paid to do. If the millions and millions of dollars they are getting paid is the problem they should quit, get real jobs and find out what that’s like. Otherwise they should keep the whining about race or whatever it is that they feel sorry for off of the grid-iron. I can’t believe that people aren’t more disgusted with these jerks. What will they be doing next, burning down the stadium(s)? The more PC, the worse it gets!

    1. But the grievances aren’t about their pay….or jobs…it’s about law enforcement, I THINK? Actually, they’ve done a bad job because it’s all about THEM now, not what Colin K had supposedly hoped he could do.

      1. BLM/It’s certainly a cause that needs attention… but does it need the attention of NFL viewers??? Of the population generally? Or just Government and Law Enforcement? In other words, stop highlighting issues that ordinary people can’t solve for the people, and bring it up in the proper forums (local law enforcement). The deaths of 16 unarmed black men in 2016 is hardly a national crises. More black men were struck by lightening in 2016 then shot by cops. Do we need a national lightening awareness program?

      2. Did you see my suggestion that those gazillions in player salaries can be shared with the poor kids on the streets in various ways? I know some DO help, but…PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS, don’t blame the national anthem

  7. EVERYBODY: HOW NICE IF ALL THOSE GAZILLIONS OF DOLLARS NFL PLAYERS GET PARTIALLY WENT TO SUPPORTING MINORITY AFTER-SCHOOL SPORTS…OR BETTER TRAINING OF OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT, OR LOOKING INTO THE CAUSE OF CHICAGO DEATHS, OR SOMETHING POSITIVE.
I THINK THAT’S A TERRIFIC IDEA AND I THINK TRUMP’S NEXT TWEET OUGHT TO SAY:

“LET’S GET SOME OF THOSE BIG SALARIES TO THE KIDS. TO SCHOOLS. TO SUPPORTING GOOD COP TRAINING. THAT’S POSITIVE. LET’S STOP THE NEGATIVE THIS HAS BECOME”

  8. Z, Donald couldn’t have said those three things ’cause then he wouldn’t have been Donald!

John, “They should quit and find real jobs…”, yeah, but they can’t live on what McDonald’s pays its employees!

    1. Mal, his not being Donald is what I’m counting on…..no change in meaning, just likable, smart and baffling to the media; who could disagree with my tweets? I didn’t take anything OUT but silly media-loved insults.

  9. “But the grievances aren’t about their pay….or jobs…it’s about law enforcement”

I didn’t mean to imply that their grievances were [really] about pay but I use that as an example of the absurdity of what they are doing, as they draw that outrageously high pay, and if they want to act like complete @$$#0!e$ while drawing it they should QUIT! Their disdain for “law enforcement” has nothing to do with the game of football and fans that support it and THEM shouldn’t have to endure their show. If Black Lives Matter (BLM), really [matters] so much, to blacks, why are most homicides against blacks committed by other blacks? If they hate “law enforcement” so much [they] should seek-out a place where it doesn’t exist! If the NFL continues to put-up with this nonsense there should be a massive boycott but I’m not holding my breath for that. Rather, as this country succumbs to more PC, maybe the fans will start joining in by taking a knee.

  11. Nice blog Z As I have said many many times in many many places, Trump needs to have his Daughter Ivanka right by his side EVERY time he decides to send a tweet. That way, she can KICK THE HELL out of his shin when he starts blabbering! Then MAYBE, just MAYBE the lefturds will have nothing, or at least less to bitch about! BTW, you must go see my new post about this knee bullshit! It’s something I found that is a must read. Actually reads a lot like your writing.
